Dear VAYA Members and Supporters,

Many thanks to those who came out and supported the Utility Box Painting Day (images above) and Vietnamese Heritage Flag Day @ Hoover High School. The event was a GREAT success. In continuing more events leading up to "Black April", VAYA will be participating in this year's Annual Linda Vista Multi-Cultural Fair this Saturday. The day after that will be the Community-Wide Black April Commemoration @ Hoover High School (4474 El Cajon Blvd, San Diego, CA 92115). With just a few weeks away from "Black April" (April 30th), VAYA is diligently working with many different organizations on this collaborative event. The "Black April Committee" now meets every Friday at 6:30 PM @ the Community Resource Center (4635 El Cajon / San Diego, CA 92115) to work on this project. VAYA 2010 Tet Chair & Committee Chair Applications

To those interested,

The Vietnamese American Youth Alliance (VAYA) is in the process of forming our Tet Committee for the year 2010.

The links below will allow you to access the applications in order to apply for VAYA 2010 "Tet" Chair and/or VAYA 2010 "Committee Chair". Details and duty descriptions are included inside on the application.

Process: E-Board will unanimously vote and appoint either one or two Tet Co-Chairs. Tet-Chair or Co-Chairs will unanimously appoint staff into his/her respective choice of committee. E-Board will only intervene in "Committee Chair selection" should conflict arises.

The following Committee Chairs are available for the year 2010:
Vice Chair*, Secretary*, Budget/Finance*, Operations, Entertainment, Cultural Village, Miss Vietnam of San Diego Pageant, Kid's Spotlight, Golden Voice Contest, Sponsorship, Vendor, Public Relations, Volunteer, Ticketing & Gate, Publicity, Technical Audio/Video, Creative Design*, and Webmaster*.

* Denotes a ONE Person position, although negotiable if deemed necessary.

Deadline for VAYA 2010 "Tet" Chair (ONLY) Application will be Sunday Night on April 26, 2009 (11:59 PM PST). VAYA 2010 "Committee Chair" Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis, but priority considerations will be given to those who submit their COMPLETED application by Sunday Night May 3, 2009 (11:59 PM PST).
