Dear VAYA Members and Supporters,

Congratulations to Cuong Pham and Sydney Tran as the incoming Tet (Vietnamese Lunar New Year) Festival Co-Chair for 2010. Cuong Pham was Tet Co-Chair for 2009 and is the current Treasurer for VAYA. Sydney Tran was Tet Vice Chair for 2009 and was the former External Vice President for VAYA (2007-2008). With their past experience and leadership in VAYA and our Tet Festival, it is without a doubt that they will continue the success of our annual Tet Festival while building and improving on the event as a whole. VAYA would also like to acknowledge Nikki Lam and Tim Ho as the incoming Tet Festival Vice Co-Chair for 2010. For more information about our Tet Festival, please visit www.sdtet.com.

A reminder that VAYA will be hosting this year's SUMMER TRIP to "Temecula" on the weekend of July 24th-26th 2009 (2 Days 2 Nights). While the fee deposit deadline has past, if you are STILL interested, please email eboard@vayasd.org ASAP to reserve a spot (a few are still open, a $10 LATE fee is required). OVERALL cost per person is estimated to be between $50-$60 depending on the number of attendees. Visit www.vayasd.org for details and further information. First come, first serve. Priority registration will be granted to active VAYA members.

As the summer approaches, we are seeking leaders to take on some projects, including the: Annual Street Clean Up Event, Mid-Autumn (Tet Trung Thu) Festival, and many others. If you have an interest in being more involved in VAYA by taking on a leadership role, please email us for more information at eboard@vayasd.org.

Lastly, don't forget that VAYA is actively recruiting new general staff and Tet 2010 Committee staff to add to our team. Please visit our official website (www.vayasd.org) to download the application along with a document detailing the duties and responsibilities for each of the position. All applications will be reviewed on a rolling-basis. E-Board will finalize the Tet Chair(s) in the next week and after that, the Tet Chair(s) will appoint staff on board accordingly. So apply EARLY to claim YOUR SPOT (first come, first serve).
